Child Care Resource and Referral of Northeast Georgia at Athens (CCRR of NEGA at Athens) (706) 613-1603 or toll free (877) 877-1275.

Whether you are a parent, a child care provider, an employer, or just a concerned citizen, CCRR of NEGA at Athens is the place to turn for information and assistance regarding child care in twelve counties in northeast Georgia:  Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Jasper, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton counties.  CCRR's mission is to ensure that all children in the region have access to high quality early care and learning experiences.

What Can Child Care Resource And Referral Agencies Do For You?

For Parents:

  • Free referrals to child care centers, group child care homes, family child care homes, and other programs that are available in their home or work area.
  • A description of child care options and state regulations
  • Counseling on how to choose and maintain quality child care
  • Assistance with locating child care during nontraditional work hours, for children with special needs, and other unusual child care needs
  • Information on financial assistance for child care
  • Parent workshops and parent-child together (PACT) activities.

For Providers:

  • Training for professional development and the meet state requirements
  • Technical assistance on starting and maintaining quality child care programs
  • Program support such as resource room, lending library and provider networks
  • Assistance in becoming accredited  or state-designated as a quality program
  • Mini-grants for starting and enhancing quality child care programs

For Employers:

  • Iinformation on the supply of child care in the employer's area
  • Consultations on how to provide child care opportunities for employees

Child Care For the General Public:

  • As the experts in the child care field, we disseminate information about the importance of high quality early care and education, and about child care in 12 counties in northeast Georgia.  CCRR maintains a comprehensive database of all the early care and learning programs and after-school programs in the region.
CCRR of NEGA at Athens is funded by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care & Learning through the Child Care and Development Grant.
